On campus in Nashville -- Meagan Martin might be one of the most skilled athletes to ever enjoy a career at Vanderbilt. As a Commodore pole vaulter from 2009-12, Martin set a then-program record (3.95 meters) at the 2012 SEC Indoor Championships and went on to become a professional rock climber in her post-Vanderbilt life. But Martin also gained national recognition as a contestant on NBC/Esquire Network's American Ninja Warrior, where she became just the third female competitor to complete the show's qualifying course. Martin will re-join ANW during its spring season. This week Martin took time out of her busy life to catch up with the Commodore Insider Podcast.

Jackie and the Junior Ninja team are excited for these expansion opportunities where they will bring classes, competitions, camps, birthday parties, and open play to these communities. They also have made lasting connections with many American Ninja Warrior competitors and will be partnering with many to create these new gyms, including Ethan Swanson. Swanson, one of seventeen Pro Ninjas to advance onto Stage 2 in season 8 of American Ninja Warrior, is the Manager of Course Operations at the JNW Chicago location.

Shimizu, like other American Ninja Warrior competitors, places a bar across the lowest notches like a pullup bar, but with each pullup, he lifts the bar midflight to the next pair of notches, climbing toward the sky without ever letting go of the bar or touching the ground.
