What if American Ninja Warrior was an Olympic sport?

We’ve all thought about it. How would you like to see it set up?

If you’re an American Ninja Warrior fan, there’s a good chance you’ve had a thought during the Tokyo Olympic coverage of the last few weeks.

It goes a little something like this...

As fans, we think quite highly of our Ninja Warrior athletes. And many in the community think the sport should have its own stage at the Olympics. The IOC introduced a few new sports to the Summer Olympics in Tokyo this time around, such as climbing. We also know there are groups out there right now who are dedicated to doing the massive amount of work and organization that it takes to actually qualify for a new Olympic event.

So Ninja Warrior at the Olympics is not out of the realm of possibility, but at the moment, we don’t know when that dream will come true.

Let’s take a minute to brainstorm what that could look like.

How would you like to see Ninja Warrior represented as an Olympic sport?

  • Would there be multiple events within the discipline?
  • Would all genders compete in the same events or would there be different fields?
  • What do you think the qualifying process would look like?
  • If you had to pick right now, which American Ninja Warriors do you think we’d see on medal platforms?

Jump down to the comment section and give us your thoughts on the subject.

The Tokyo Olympics are moving into their final days. We’ll be back to full American Ninja Warrior immersion on Monday when the second night of the Semifinals debuts at 8 pm on NBC.
