The competitors of the upcoming American Ninja Warrior Women’s Championship are a force in the sport. Altogether, they’ve racked up 26 buzzers during the regular seasons of the show. (Not including specials like USA vs The World.)

This coming Sunday, May 9 (which is also Mother’s Day), we’ll see 12 of the best women in Ninja Warrior take on the inaugural Women’s Championship. It will include three rounds of competition. The show starts on a six-obstacle course, then moves to a 10-obstacle course. (This is the equivalent of a Qualifying course and then a Semifinals course.) The final round is a Power Tower playoff. That’s a lot of chances to hit buzzers, which inspired us to look back at how these Ninjas have done in the past.

Over the Qualifiers, City and Semifinals, and the National Finals, there have been 26 buzzers total from this field. (If anyone catches a buzzer that we overlooked, let us know and we’ll get this adjusted!) Nine of the competitors have hit at least one Qualifying buzzer. Two have reached an extended course buzzer. And two have logged in a buzzer at the National Finals.

This gives us a good idea of what we can expect from the Women’s Championship. There’s plenty of experience here that indicates we’ll see a lot of buzzers in both rounds on the course. We could also very well see some first-time buzzers. Zhanique, Rachael, and Jeri all have it in them to go all the way.

What will the buzzer count be from the first American Ninja Warrior Women’s Championship? We’ll find out Sunday, May 9, at 7 pm on NBC.
