In case you were wondering, Ethan Swanson is still doing backflips. The seven-time American Ninja Warrior competitor has been doing a backflip a day for about two and a half years. Today (April 29) marked his 1,000th day of backflips. We feel a little nauseous just thinking about that, but this isn't about us.
Congratulations, Ethan!

At this point, where has Ethan NOT done a backflip? He’s backflipped inside. He’s backflipped outside. He’s backflipped on American Ninja Warrior. Ethan’s dedication to the backflip has never waivered.
His fellow Ninjas celebrated his milestone on social media. Nick Hanson sent a shoutout.

Jamie Rahn was impressed.

So what’s the goal of all this backflipping? MORE BACKFLIPS.
Going for the 24 hour backflip record, currently 1,001 backflips. The plan is for end of April. Gotta be smart and stay healthy!

Ethan makes it look very easy. Don’t be fooled. Backflips are hard.
150 Backflips in 30 minutes last night. 5 each minute. Continuing the training! Next week: 2-3 hour session

And a little dangerous.
Sooo I developed a little bit of AKI - Acute Kindey Injury - from overtraining backflips. I'm still clear to continue training for the world record attempt, but I have to slow it down a bit. Whoops

We wish Ethan and his backflips a long and happy future together!
