Today, we were scrolling through the American Ninja Warrior YouTube page, thinking of article ideas. We found that we kept stopping at certain runs and thinking, “Ugh! This one makes us so emotional.”
We’ve traveled with the show for the past five years. Sometimes, we’d watch a run happen live and not truly understand the weight behind it until we’d learned more about that competitor’s story. But once the full picture becomes clear, there are a few unforgettable runs that will always make us cry. How about you?
Which runs, from any season of American Ninja Warrior, always make you emotional?
We’ll kick it off! Here are four runs that we need tissues to get through.
After Kenny Niemitalo’s daughter received a kidney donor thanks to the show featuring his story, Kenny set out to make sure other kids had the same opportunity.

After losing her young son, Jacob, Sarah took it upon herself to fulfill his Ninja Warrior dreams.
Quest came in as an underdog and, by making it to the City Finals, proved that you should never underestimate her.
