We have some fresh American Ninja Warrior season 13 news for you today!

The second round of the competition, known as the Semifinals, will take place in Los Angeles in mid-April, returning to the backlot at Universal Studios Hollywood.

We previously shared that all the Ninjas will start their journey in the Tacoma Dome. Those that advance from the Qualifiers will then move on to Los Angeles to take on the longer, 10-obstacle courses of the Semifinals, which will film in mid-April. As the location suggests, this time around the Ninjas will run the course outside and at night, a return to a familiar look and feel after season 12’s completely indoors season.

It’s a bit of a homecoming for the show. American Ninja Warrior has set up on the Universal Studios backlot every season (minus 12) since season eight. In 2020, the Ninjas were just 24 hours away from hitting the course in Los Angeles when the pandemic canceled everything. Just over a year later, American Ninja Warrior will return.

Those that advance from the Semifinals will then need to prepare to head to Las Vegas. The show will film the National Finals there in May, marking the restoration of the final four stages and the potential for a $1 million payout.

Keep in mind that the show will still abide by strict COVID-19 precautions this year. There will be no live general audience at any of the tapings.
