Success on American Ninja Warrior means a lot of things. It means money. It means cash prizes. For a few people, it means holding up the trophy at the end of the season.
But for others, success looks much different. It’s stepping up to the starting line. Making it through one obstacle. Getting closer to the buzzer than they ever have before. It means toppling the obstacles they faced off the course to even take that first step.
All these types of success are what make American Ninja Warrior so special. We’ve celebrated the buzzers and wins of season 12 many times. We’d like to celebrate the other kind of success now.
Which season 12 runs inspired you the most?
It’s not an easy question to answer. The season, filmed during the pandemic, was filled with inspiring moments. Pauline Avila gave us a heartbreaking look at the frontlines as an ICU nurse. JJ Woods and Najee Richardson shared the experiences that led them to be part of the group that created “Ninjas for Black Lives.” Thomas Stillings wept as he reached the buzzer in Qualifiers. Not because it was his first (it wasn’t) but because it represented a bright spot for him and his wife Zoe after a very hard year.
Which Ninjas moved you this year and why? Let us know in the comments below. We’ll use your feedback in an upcoming article.
