Eight years of the National Finals by the numbers

This week, we took a look at some of the numbers behind Stage One and Stage Two of the National Finals. As we shared the articles, someone made a comment that they’d like to see the numbers of finishers on the various stages all together in one place.

Well, your wish is our command.

Below, we’ve gathered the number of finishers on the four stages of the National Finals from season four to season 11. Remember that prior to season four, the finale of each season actually took place in Japan on Sasuke. It was not referred to as the National Finals. Season 12 did not have a National Finals and instead used the Power Tower playoffs to wrap up the season.

It does look like the National Finals are coming back in season 13, so this is a great time to study the numbers. What do you think? Do you see any patterns or trends in the course completions? Do more finishers on Stage One always lead to more finishers on Stage Two?
