Today is a very special day in American Ninja Warrior-land. It’s host Matt Iseman’s birthday! And it’s a big one. According to Google, today, January 22, is Matt’s 50th birthday. (But Google could be wrong because we’re fairly sure Matt is right around 35-years-old.)
So to celebrate we did what anyone with access to the Getty photo archives would. We started looking for the oldest photos they have! For the record, Getty returned almost 127 pages of results for the search, “Matt Iseman.” We have been on a Matt Iseman JOURNEY this morning.
But first, we have to start it off with these baby photos that Matt shared on his Instagram page. He took it back to where it all began! Ugh. The cuteness.
Now, on to the archives! Look at this young Matt pose. So debonair. Where was his modeling contract? Did he have one?
Matt has been one of the American Ninja Warrior hosts since season two. He’s basically an OG. Waaaay back then, he and Jimmy Smith would travel to Japan to cover the finale which took place on Sasuke.
Remember the Jonny Moseley days?
We have no idea if this is one of the earliest photos of Matt and Akbar Gbajabiamila together, but we’re going to say it is. And hi, Jenn Brown!
We mean, there was no way Matt was going to just stand next to this shark for a photo op. Duh.
Matt has essentially been there for EVERYTHING that’s happened on American Ninja Warrior. The stories he could tell...
Remember when Matt won Celebrity Apprentice? We sure do.
Oh that Matt, he’s so silly. We don’t know what to say either, Kristine Leahy.
This guy will never turn down a challenge.
Scrolling through those years of photos, we’ve realized Matt does this kicking thing A LOT. It’s a go-to pose for Matt.
Which brings us to the recent years of American Ninja Warrior. Matt is still going strong and is part of this fire reporting team with Akbar and Zuri Hall. Seriously, this photo should be in a gallery.
Happy birthday, Matt! Thank you for everything you’ve done and continue to do for the American Ninja Warrior community! The show wouldn’t be what it is without you!
Cheers to another 50!
