American Ninja Warrior fans are chomping at the bit for fresh action! We’re only a few days away from the All-Stars special and we’re so excited to bring you a couple of tasty tidbits to hold you over until the full episode debuts.
The All-Stars special consists of two parts: Team Competition, and the Skills Competition. We introduced you to the teams in this article. Now, find out what over-the-top challenges the Ninjas will take on in the Skills Competition!
Fearsome Ferris Wheel
This is a brand new challenge starring the Ferris Wheel obstacle that made its debut during season 11. In this version, the Ninjas will race through the Ferris Wheel and up a ladder of swinging handles to reach the buzzer.
You remember this one! The Ninjas sprint down nine steps that are about five-feet apart. The goal is to run out, swing on a rope to turn around, and return to the buzzer while staying dry and staying ahead of your opponent. This challenge was won last year by Joe Moravsky.
Mega Spider Climb
The Mega Spider Climb transforms Stage Four of the National Finals into something even more terrifying. Two Ninjas race up the 75-foot ascent to the buzzer by bracing their hands and feet in a narrow shoot. This challenge was won last year by Chris Wilczewski.
Big Dipper Freestyle Challenge
One of the most subjective and fun challenges has to be this iteration of the Double Dipper. The crew removes the second track of the Stage One obstacle and the Ninjas literally let it fly! Hosts Akbar Gbajabiamila, Matt Iseman, and Zuri Hall score each plunge on a scale of 1-10. The Ninjas will have two chances to show off and whoever has the highest cumulative score is the winner! Sean Bryan took the title for this challenge in 2019.
The 2020 American Ninja Warrior All-Stars Special airs on Monday, August 31 at 8pm EST/PST on NBC. Season 12 of the show debuts one week later on Monday, September 7!
