There’s good reason Sam Sann’s inspirational run at the Houston Finals is still charting. He was one of only two competitors to finish the entire extended course. Sam also did it at age 48, making him the second oldest competitor to finish a City Finals course at the time. Additionally, he was the only Ninja to complete both the Houston Qualifiers and the City Finals course that year.

Geoff Britten’s climb was a turning point for the show. To date, he’s the only Ninja to have a “perfect” season in which he hit six buzzers, staying completely dry. He climbed Stage Four before Isaac Caldiero, making him technically the first Ninja to reach Total Victory. However, when Isaac’s time to the top just beat out Geoff’s, the title of champion went to Caldiero. It ignited one of the hottest debates in American Ninja Warrior history and its effects can still be felt today.
