10 out-of-context thoughts on season 12’s new obstacles

I’ve seen ‘em. Here’s what I can tell you.

David Becker/NBC

Last week, I got to spend some time with the fine folks over at The ATS Team. (I’ll bring you more info from that visit later this week.) The ATS Team is responsible for the set up and management of the American Ninja Warrior course. They’re also heavily involved in the process of shaping the course with the producers from A. Smith and Co prior to the season.

With the Los Angeles taping of American Ninja Warrior just over a week away (How did THAT come up so quickly?), the floor of the ATS workshop is littered with obstacles getting their final touches before heading out into the world.

I got to take a little stroll through this obstacle wonderland and learned more about what the Ninjas are going to be up against this season. Here’s what to expect...

Okay, obviously you know I can’t tell you a darn thing about the obstacles. Instead, here are 10 completely unhelpful, out of context thoughts I had while gazing at those monstrosities, presented in no particular order.

1.) Oh my, that drop has a bit of a bite.

2.) Hope the Ninjas haven’t stopped playing hop-scotch...

3.) Hope the Ninjas have always dreamed of being inside a washing machine during the spin cycle...

4.) Let the bee-sting puns commence!

5.) This is the next generation of nuts.

6.) I assume the Ninjas know they should be practicing that move, right?

7.) Oh, fancy safety pads for fancy falling!

8.) It’s always nice to spend time with old friends.

9.) Wow. It’s like the fans just don’t like the Ninjas.

10.) That’s... closer to the water than anyone ever wants to be.

There you have it! I hope you found this insightful!
