UPDATE: We have a few more details on the competition format! Read about those here.
Have we got news for you! American Ninja Warrior has always been a family affair. Now it’s going to be a family competition.
American Ninja Warrior is currently taking applications for a brand new family special!
The ANW producers are looking for teams of three who are ready to show the world that they are the reigning relatives of Ninja Warrior. While the finer details are still being discussed, they’re looking to record this special competition in 2021.
Each team must have at least one teenager between 15 and 19-years-old and at least one woman. The groups can include any sort of family relations. It could be parents and their child. But it also could be three siblings, cousins, or a combination of aunts and uncles!
The production team is keeping the competition format close to their chest. However, they did let us know that the obstacles will all be full-sized (no ANW Jr. obstacles here), and that it will be a relay competition. Everyone will take on a few obstacles, but not necessarily run a full course.
Is your family ready to rock the course? Go ANWCasting.com and submit a video that shows all three members of your team. On the written form, when it asks for ‘submitting with,’ add in the names and information of your other teammates. Don’t delay! The producers will be taking family submissions beyond the December 14 deadline that has been set for season 13’s general competition. However, they plan to start selecting families in early January. If you don’t want your Ninja fam to miss out, you better get going!
