Jesse “Flex” Labreck came on the American Ninja Warrior scene in season 8 and has made it to Las Vegas every year. Jesse has become a fan favorite for her effort and skills on the course, but she’s also open about her fears and overcoming negative thoughts off the course. Here are five examples of how Jesse inspired us with her honesty.

When she told us she’s scared of heights

‍♀️ Hi, I’m Jesse and I’m scared of heights - it took me a year and a half to work up the courage to go for this lache Then a few more weeks to actually get it! - haven’t gotten it since... but we won’t talk about that . . . #AmericanNinjaWarrior #flex #flexlabreck #lache #obstacles

When she said sometimes you have to ignore your negative thoughts and just go for it

Thanks to @ethanswanson for creating this and for not putting it in the women’s course at competition . #americanninjawarrior #obstacles #flex #flexlabreck #fit #fitness #girlswhoworkout

When she showed us how working weaknesses isn’t fun but is still worth it

Not flashy, not super cool - but while you can hear people doing the peg board in the back ground, I can’t quite do it without using straight arms or high lock I’m back to the basics of working on my 90° lock offs so I can try to be more efficient! Working on weaknesses is definitely not the fun part of ninja but seeing improvement is! . @bornprimitive sports bra . #AmericanNinjaWarrior #flex #flexlabreck #obstacles #fit #fitness #girlswithmuscle #bornprimitive #teambornprimitive #athletedrivenpatriotinspired

Last but not least, when she shared how disappointed she was after falling last season but also shared how she turns her thoughts around and regains focus

“Not Againnnnn” I’m not going to lie and say this one didn’t hurt. 3rd time falling at the very end of Stage 1. It...
