Michelle Warnky has long been considered a leader in the American Ninja Warrior community. She has inspired women and men over her seven seasons on the show. In season 11, she completed the Cincinnati Qualifiers course even after taking a hit to the face. Michelle hit the buzzer with blood running into her eyes. (You can hear Michelle talk about that moment on the American Ninja Warrior podcast.)
Back for the City Finals, Michelle had something even bigger up her sleeve. We don’t want to ruin it for you, so we highly recommend you watch the video above before reading any further.
If you’re still reading... Let’s just say it. WOW. Wow, wow, wow. No woman has completed a City Finals course since Kacy Catanzaro in season six - Until Michelle Warnky. Michelle made history as she climbed that Spider Trap and claimed her spot in the National Finals. The moment was chillingly magical. By the ninth obstacle, you knew Michelle was going to do this. There was just a look in her eye. This night was hers.
She wasn’t the only one to make history that night. Shortly after, Jesse Labreck made her way up the Spider Trap to the buzzer. Together, they became the second and third women to ever complete the City Finals course, and it was the first time we saw two women do it in the same episode!
