A day after surgery I’ve been challenged to eat The Worlds Hottest Chocolate BarPosted by Akbar Gbajabiamila on Thursday, March 14, 2019
Akbar Gbajabiamila is a man of many talents. Former NFL plater, host of American Ninja Warrior, eater of hot things.
Yeah, for some reason, he really likes to do burning, scalding hot food challenges. We flat out don’t get the appeal on this one.
His latest attempt included eating the “world’s hottest chocolate bar.” There’s a lot that we think you need to consider about this situation. First of all, Akbar JUST had knee surgery. He can’t leap to his feet and pace away the pain if need be. Second of all, he admits in the video that he does not know who sent him the chocolate or how they got his address.
Did... did he miss that whole “taking candy from strangers” talk?
Third, it says right on the package that the chocolate can irritate the skin. If it can do that to the outside of the body, what do you think it’s going to do to the INSIDE, Akbar?!?
But whatever. Akbar is a grown man who can make his own decisions. Decisions like putting the whole dang bar in his mouth at once. You should watch the video above, it’s a slow-motion train wreck.
Things start to go awry pretty quickly. Akbar’s faithful pupper Simba is immediately on the case, trying to figure out what’s wrong with his human.
One of the best things about this video is Akbar’s family’s commentary in the background. A disembodied hand supplies almond milk in a crucial moment.
This little one literally throwing bread at Akbar and shooting him a look of distain is priceless. Like, “Dad, did you really expect a different outcome?”
So many hugs and props to Simba who takes his role as family protector very seriously and is gravely concerned for Akbar through the entire video. Get that pup a snack, stat!
Spoiler alert: Akbar survives, but not before having to consume an array of heat-diminishing home remedies, like a straight-up spoonful of sugar.
We wish Akbar a speedy recovery for his knee... and we really hope this satisfied his need for spice for a little while.
