American Ninja Warrior officially announced its return for season 11 in a press release that contained a LOT of info. It held the 2019 taping locations. It confirmed the return of the $100k last Ninja standing prize and the Mega Wall.
It also teased that there are some changes on the way. This line specifically has us biting our nails:
“This season will bring some new, significant changes to the course and the game play, including new rules for the mega-warped wall and never-before-seen obstacles.”
New obstacles, that’s something we’re used to. The show wouldn’t be the same without its new challenges year after year. However, last year brought a whole new type of obstacle with the underwater Water Walls. Perhaps we’ll be seeing some creative changes again this year.
New rules for the Mega Wall is an especially intriguing idea.
In season 10, Ninjas had one chance at the 18-foot wall. If they got up it in one try, they won $10,000. If they failed it, they only had one chance at the 14.5-foot Warped Wall. (Generally, competitors get three tries at the “regular” wall.) Attempting the Mega Wall was only available during the Qualifying round.
So what could those new rules be? Multiple attempts? A chance at it in the City Finals? More money?
We’re also deeply curious if that’s the only change to the game play we can expect. It leaves a lot of room for interpretation and we’re on edge for answers!
What do you think the producers are going to change up for season 11? We’ll keep you updated as we find out more!
