Matt and Akbar are the official kings of summer

Something just occurred to us: American Ninja Warrior hosts Akbar Gbajabiamila and Matt Iseman are the kings of summer. Go ahead and fit them for crowns.

First of all, they’re the hosts of NBC’s hit summer show, a little thing called AMERICAN NINJA WARRIOR. You may have heard of it. So you already can’t think about summer without thinking about them.

Now, for the second year in a row, they’ve hosted the Macy’s Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular. Does it get any more summer than eating hotdogs and staring into the sky with hundreds of thousands of fellow Americans?

If that wasn’t enough to seal the deal, here they are playing cornhole. Cornhole is one of the jewels of the summertime and we won’t hear otherwise.

(Nope. Akbar is still not that great at throwing things.)

This picture basically announces their coronation.

Look at them. They know that when the sun rises high in the summer sky, it’s their time to rule the kingdom.
