See a preview of IndyCar’s Scott Dixon on the course

Dixon ran the course in Indianapolis

Four-time IndyCar Champion Scott Dixon has joined the list of professional drivers who’ve taken on the American Ninja Warrior course. He ran on the night of April 29 in Indianapolis, but we won’t see how he did until his episode airs after the season kicks off on May 30.

However, in this preview from IndyCar, you can get a sense of how he was feeling.

“This is probably the most nervous I’ve been for anything,” Dixon shared.

He’s not the first IndyCar driver to try to become a Ninja Warrior. In season eight, Josef Newgarden, Helio Castroneves, and Tony Kanaan all tried the Indianapolis course. Castroneves and Newgarden went the furthest, making it to the third obstacle.

Dixon received advice from two of his fellow IndyCar drivers: Tony Kanaan and Helio Castroneves. Kanaan told him to, “Just jump farther than you think you need to.”

“They said enjoy the moment. But I’m not sure they did either because it’s something so far out of your wheelhouse.”

Dixon admitted that he only trained for a week and a half. But even with that small experience, he got a sense of the people who make up Ninja Warrior, saying “The community is a lot of fun.”

Think Scott Dixon broke the IndyCar driver obstacle record on American Ninja Warrior? We’ll find out during season 10!
