It has been announced that four-time IndyCar champion Scott Dixon will compete on season 10 of American Ninja Warrior. He’ll be running the course on April 29, when the show sets up camp in Indianapolis for a second time.
Dixon shared his thoughts on running the course with IndyCar.Com: “So far, I’ve had a pretty good racing career. I’ve won the Indy 500 and four series championships. Technically, I’ve won more races than the others (still driving), which I think could make me a better Ninja Warrior, and probably a lot more athletic than the drivers that have been on there before,” joked Dixon, driver of the No. 9 PNC Bank Chip Ganassi Racing Honda.
“But in all seriousness, I’m looking forward to competing on the show this year. Even more special, Indianapolis has been my home and my family’s home for over 20 years.”
Dixon joins a growing list of car drivers, both IndyCar and NASCAR, that have taken on American Ninja Warrior over the past few seasons.
- Ricky Stenhouse Jr.
- Ben Kennedy
- Ryan Blaney
- Conor Daly
- Josef Newgarden
- Helio Castroneves
- Tony Kanaan
While they’ve all put in a good effort, none of the drivers have advanced to the City Finals. How will Dixon fair? We took a look at his Instagram for some hints.
It looks like Dixon gets his cycling-game on with Tony Kanaan, so maybe he’s getting a little advice.
His fitness certainly isn’t lacking. He knows his way around a gym.
He’s known as the “Iceman,” which hopefully means he’ll stay calm and think through the obstacles.
Do you think Scott Dixon will be our first IndyCar City Finalist?
