In case you missed it, one of the scariest moment’s we’ve seen on American Ninja Warrior came on Stage One of the Season 10 National Finals. Nine-time accomplished veteran Travis Rosen dismounted off the Double Dipper, slamming his foot into the landing pad. The impact dramatically broke his ankle and removed him from the competition.
After the episode aired, Travis updated the fans on his condition. In a series of tweets, he said it was the worst injury he’d every had, and that he’d required surgery in Las Vegas. We could only hope for the best for Travis.
Then, around Thanksgiving, Travis took to Instagram to provide a much more exciting update: He’s on the road to a full recovery.
There are some intense photos of his ankle in his post. Just an FYI.
In the caption of the post, Travis gives an update on his healing process.
“I went from being told I may need a 2nd surgery and possibly be unable to EVER run again, to being told full healing was expected - but not for a looong time, including not being cleared to be active till sometime in January-March. But instead... I WAS CLEARED TO START JOGGING OVER THREE WEEKS AGO! Seriously, the doctor was floored.”
Later in the post, he says, “The breaks in my ankle have healed, but part of my fibula is still quite broken - it has a huge split that will take a long time to fill in. It’s not load bearing though so I’ve been fairly okay.”
Travis closes by saying, “My Ninja future’s still up in the air, but thanks again to everyone who’s stood by my side while I’ve endured this crazy test. I’m thankful for God’s miraculous healing, but also SO thankful for YOU!”
But the updates don’t stop there! Travis returned to Instagram a couple days ago to post a video of himself DOING A DANG BACKFLIP.
While we definitely want him to return to American Ninja Warrior, it should absolutely only be when Travis and his body are ready. But these updates are huge and we wish him more speedy progress in this process!
