Season nine’s list of nightmares: Kansas City obstacles

Not one Ninja was able to beat all 10 obstacles back to back.

Eddy Chen/NBC

American Ninja Warrior’s stop in Kansas City was historic, but not for the greatest reason. For only the second time in the show’s history, not a single Ninja was able to hit the buzzer in the City Finals, completing all 10 obstacles.

Season eight’s Obstacle Design Challenge winner was Kevin Brekke and he contributed Crank It Up to the Kansas City course. If the Ninjas survived that, they’d need to face the Floating Monkey Bars and Iron Maiden, an obstacle designed by Ninja Warrior competitor Brett Sims.
