American Ninja Warrior Zach Gowen hits us with another dose of powerful insight

He’s a reminder of what we’re all capable of.

Zach Gowen is the American Ninja Warrior who stopped us all in our tracks with his run in Indianapolis, and in his latest Instagram post, he reminds us of the many different ways he motivates his fans.

Reflecting on his own body image issues, Zach says, “The reality is no matter the circumstances we find ourselves in, we can find peace, purpose, and joy through our responses to life. How well we respond to adversity is the ultimate indicator on what kind of life we'll lead. To go from tragedy to triumph and to use your victories to help others is what life is all about!”

Zach lost his leg at age eight to cancer, leaving him feeling like an outcast as a child. Later in life, he would battle a drug and alcohol addiction. But those hard lessons taught Zach to never give up.

When he took the course during the Indianapolis Qualifiers, he removed his prosthetic leg and gave us one of the most inspiring runs in the show’s history.
