When Akbar Gbajabiamila isn’t slinging television’s finest one-liners and puns on American Ninja Warrior, he’s a sports analyst for the NFL Network. This week, his two careers collided.

A. Smith and Co Productions, the company behind American Ninja Warrior, is creating the 2017 NFL ProBowl Skills Showdown. They’ve put together unique challenges to test the players’ limits, much like they do to the Ninjas. Akbar will be there to capture it all.

[First of all, let’s just take a moment to be slightly jealous that Akbar went directly from the Sundance Film Festival to the ProBowl. #Goals]

He got in an early work out, and went right on to check out the taping of the Skills Showdown.

Akbar's wake up call

The last time the ProBowl Skills Challenge happened was in 2007. It already feels a little Ninja Warrior-like in the sense that this seems impossible for most humans.

But with A. Smith and Co. behind the wheel, things are getting kicked up a notch.

We know there’s going to be DODGEBALL and a WR Drone Drop in the challenges. So yeah. This is going to be good.

The NFL ProBowl Skills Showdown will air tomorrow, Thursday, January 26, at 7 pm EST on ESPN.
