MIT students freaked out watching their team on Team Ninja Warrior: College Madness and it’s pure happiness

Their pride is infectious.

MIT students gathered together to watch the second episode of Team Ninja Warrior: College Madness with Charlie Andrews, Amelia Becker and Tomas Cabrera, the students who represented them on show.

As Akbar Gbajabiamila and Matt Iseman reminded us so frequently during the episode, MIT isn’t known for sports. They’re NERDS, guys. Nerds aren’t strong.

They were also pitted again UConn for their first round, a fierce athletic competitor. So when MIT just went ahead and swept UConn aside, people started paying attention.

Then MIT faced Oklahoma.

And promptly sent them packing.

Jaws started hitting the floor.

It was just MIT and Texas A&M in the relay finale. Okay, Texas A&M is a very strong team. Do we still think MIT can challenge them?

Yup. They can.

MIT hit every single buzzer put in front of them for a total of seven wins and earned a place in the championships.

When the big ending was revealed in front of their fellow students, the reaction will make you smile so hard. The chanted Charlie’s name during his final climb, and when he reached for the buzzer, they lost their minds cheering.

The team took a bow and got a standing ovation from the crowd.

It was a sweet moment full of underdog pride. The internet loved it as well.

Congrats to Charlie, Amelia and Tomas! They made MIT and “nerds” everywhere proud!
